ACT Construction (UK) Ltd is delighted to announce a new sponsorship signing with two Scottish netball players Emily Nicholl and Nicola McCleery, as part of their club team, the UWS Sirens.

The Sirens are Scotland’s only professional netball team, based at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow. They compete in the Vitality Netball Superleague 2018.

Nicola McCleery and Emily Nicholl are players with UWS Sirens.

Both players have been selected to play in the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games 2018 in April as part of the Scotland Netball team.

The ACT sponsorship will offer personal financial support to goal defender Emily and centre attack Nicola.

Nicola, of East Kilbride, said: “I am delighted to receive the ACT sponsorship. Not only will this take some financial stress away but this opportunity will also allow for brand awareness and the ability to raise the profile of netball for myself as a UWS Siren and Scottish Thistle national athlete.”

Emily, who lives in Rutherglen, South Lanarkshire, added: “I’ve never had any personal sponsorships so to be sponsored by ACT is a huge privilege. It’s a great way for netball to get some publicity and promote female sport.”

Both Nicola and Emily, as well as team member Jo Pettitt, will play at GC2018.

Ken Godsman, director of ACT Construction (UK) Ltd, said: “I know it is difficult for athletes to attract sponsorship and I am happy to be supporting Emily and  and Nicola, who are very deserving and dedicated netball players.

“In addition, it is great to see the girl power building thanks to the UWS Sirens and all the excellent work they do in the community, influencing and supporting females to develop within sport.”
